Ten years ago, I was releasing my first commercial game: Worlds.
A crazy project, started as a teen with barely enough knowledge to conduct it.
After 7 long years of development, Worlds became a game which blends action, adventure and infiltration in a dreamlike and mysterious atmosphere (with a tint of irony and dark humor!).
It then found its audience, and I'm still honored today to receive messages and comments from players who loved its strange worlds.
So to celebrate this 10 years anniversary, I've decided to share the source code of Worlds! It's now available under the GPL v3.0 license.
This source code is honestly pretty messy; a lot of things are done in weird ways and taped together as a whole, but it works. Approach it as the first serious (and huge) project of a 19 years old rookie.
Making Worlds open source opens the gate to a lot of possibilities - gameplay mods, additional content, graphical improvements, ports, translations... (or maybe nothing at all!)
I don't know how many people will tinker with this, but I hope you'll have fun if you do. And don't hesitate to share your work with me.
Happy 10th birthday to Worlds, and thank you all again for playing it and supporting me throughout the years!
If you've bought the game through the widget on the website, you'll find the updated file in your Humble library.
